Did you know that you could be fined $2,500 for putting up a temporary sign if you do not get utility lines marked first? DAAR was recently alerted to an investigation that was being conducted by the State Corporation Commission (SCC) regarding a violation of the Virginia Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act. The SCC is charged with enforcing Virginia's Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act, which gives them the authority to investigate alleged violations and levy a fine of up to $2,500 if a violation is found to have occurred.
For the seventheen year, the Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® sponsored an annual golf tournament benefiting the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and Habitat for Humanity in Loudoun County. Nearly 100 DAAR members, guests and affiliates gathered at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club in Purcellville on Monday, June 8h. The course is one of the most beautiful and scenic in the area.
One of DAAR's Executive Committee members will plant a big sloppy one on a pig during this summer at a soon-to-be-announced special event and you get to decide which one! DAAR is sponsoring the first ever Kiss the Pig (KTP) contest benefiting the REALTORS® Political Action Committee. Members will "vote" by making a contribution to RPAC and placing it in their "favorite" executive committee member's jar at the DAAR office and at Broker Open events in the area. If you are interested in promoting your next Broker's Open by hosting the RPAC KTP contact Christine Windle at 703/727-2144. Your Broker's Open will be posted on www.dullesarea.com and publicized to the membership.
