Detailed guidance on the federal government's plan to provide short-term loans to borrowers using the First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit was announced this week. The short-term loan program, which would effectively monetize the first-time homebuyer tax credit by permitting eligible lenders to make bridge loans collateralized by the borrower's expected tax credit, was announced by HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan at the NAR Real Estate Summit earlier in the month.

For the seventeenth year, DAAR will sponsor an annual golf tournament benefiting Habitat for Humanity in Loudoun County and the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). DAAR members, guests and affiliates will gather at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club in Purcellville on Monday, June 8th for an 11:00 a.m. shotgun start. Recently the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors authorized the establishment of a volunteer sign collection program to remove illegally placed signs within the Commonwealth of Virginia's right-of-ways located in the county. The Code of Virginia (33.1-373; 33.1-375) prohibits advertising within the limit of any highway, which includes the roadway, shoulders and median strips. Penalties for placing illegal signs can include removal of advertisement, fines and paying for the cost of removal.
