Call for Action! Urge Congress to Act Now to Extend Homebuyer Tax Credit
September 16, 2009   8 commentsThe National Association of Realtors® is calling upon its 1.2 million members to urge Congress to extend the successful homebuyer tax credit into next year. Since its inception earlier this year, the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit has brought 1.2 million new buyers into the market--350,000 of whom would not have purchased a home without the credit, according to NAR. The credit is due to expire November 30th.
"Now is the time for Congress to keep this recovery going by extending the tax credit through 2010 and making it available to more homebuyers. We have all seen how the credit has been a spur to bring homebuyers into the market, and have seen the beginnings of a real recovery in the housing market. Housing has always led this nation out of economic downturns, and can do so again," said NAR President Charles McMillan, a broker with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Dallas-Fort Worth. To share your views about the tax credit with Congress, we encourage you to participate in NAR's Call-to-Action today!

Please extend this stimulus tax credit , which is fueling the economy, and moving real estate in a positive territory
Please EXTEND the $8,000 tax credit. The economy still needs a boost and helping buyers obtain a home of their own is a fantastic start!
Hi- The TaxCredit has been instrumental in moving this real estate devastated economy in a positive direction. It has motivated purchasers and given a tremendous boost in becoming homeowners even in this tough economy. Please extend this program as it's doing much more for the Macro Level economy then the $8K figure itself. Thanks-
I applaud the government incentive $8,000 first time home buyer tax credit! I recommend that the incentive be continued, at least until the end of 2010. This movement has been incredibly helpful for recovery in our housing market. Let's keep it going!
Please continue the $48,000 credit. Compared to other federal programs, this one is a keeper. Potential purchasers who would otherwisee not be able to buy are taking houses off the market and creating a future purshing bloc which can only help this horrible economic situation both now and in the future.

this is manadorty to continue moving the toxic properties through the system, If housing is not repaired no one will work, electicians, drywall, insurance, car dealers, carpenters, title attorneys. real estate agents and the list goes on
Please keep with the current credit if not increase this amount as we have found vital to keeping housing moving in our troubled economy.
Thank you for help and expediting this matter.
Best Regards,
