Once again, DAAR's REALTOR® and Affiliate members have demonstrated their generosity at the Annual Charity Auction and Dinner to benefit local shelter-related charities. We're still waiting to subtract all the costs, but preliminary results put the net proceeds over $30,000 again this year.

DAAR published October's existing home sale indicators in Loudoun County this week. The monthly report, prepared by Rosemary deButts, DAAR's Housing Market Consultant, reflects a stable market with continued improvement among several indicators. According to the report, total unit sales in October declined (following typical cyclical trends) 4.1 percent compared to September and 3.5 percent compared to October 2008. During both 2008 and 2009, monthly sales reached a peak in June. The normal decline in the second half of this year is less significant than it was this time last year. October 2008 sales were 28 percent less than the July 2008 high while the October 2009 total was only 21 percent less than the July 2009 peak.

Tickets to tonight's 18th Annual Charity Auction and Dinner are sold out. We have arranged with River Creek Country Club to allow for up to 10 walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-in tickets will be $85.

We have been informed by NVAR that bills to renew your non-member SentriCard key agreement will be going out in late November or early December. The 2010 non-member renewal fee will be $130 + tax and will be due by January 17th.
Agents who do not have a SentriCard key and choose to get one after January 1st will pay $130 + tax, plus a one-time key activation fee of $75. NVAR does not pro-rate their key charges, so the price will be the same whether you get the key on January 1 or December 31.
